ANCESTRY RELEASED NEW SCANDINAVIAN AND PORTUGUESE COMMUNITIES LIST

Ancestry has released a Scandinavian and Portuguese communities list for members who have ties with these areas and helping people learn more about their family history. To provide better quality updates to our customers, we pull the DNA science to improve our products, resulting in meaningful and highly detailed historical insights. Ancestry has a network of over 15 million people that has a great collection of family trees and patented Genetic Communities technology. Ancestry can identify people with shared DNA and helps in determining where their ancestors lived in the past 300 years.

Scandinavian Communities

Ancestry has released around 200 new Scandinavian Communities to discover a link to family in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway. Some Ancestry members will try to find new connections in Eastern Norway and learn more about their ancestors who migrated to America in the past. Many city residents and farmers living in Eastern Norway regions began feeling crowded because the growing population and farmland became insufficient during the 19th century. Then, Eastern Norwegian people decided to move with their families to the upper Midwest to search for great and exciting opportunities for themselves and future generations.

Portuguese Communities

Ancestry has released over 20 Portuguese Communities with excellent knowledge on Portugal, Azores, Madeira, Cape Verde, and more. You can be surprised to know that you have a community in Madeira located 700 miles and south-west of Portugal. Portugal founded these areas in the early 15th century. With passing time, Madeira has become a well-known port for Europeans who were setting boats to Africa, Asia, and America.

Ancestry is the largest global consumer DNA network with over 15 million people tested. As many people are excited to join us, we expect the granularity and number of communities will increase.
